MIrROR's database is constructed through several curation based on the sequence amplified with the universal primer sets targeting the 16S-23S rRNA operon in bacterial genome.
By browsing taxonomy, users can check taxonomy information and primer binding site profile for each genome. Browsing is based on GTDB taxonomy only and NCBI taxonomy does not always match GTDB taxonomy (See
here for more details on GTDB). The actual number of 16S-23S rRNA operons in each genome may differ from the number of operons in database for the following reasons:
- If there is exactly the same sequence within the species, one side is removed.
- The 16S-23S rRNA operon sequence was not properly assembled or the primer binding site was highly mutated.
Users can download all operon sequences and metadata for desired taxonomy level.
